URACCAN Bilwi venue performs its Inaugural Lesson 2020

Training of quality professionals for the development of the Caribbean Coast

Under the motto "Training of professionals with quality for the development of the Caribbean Coast", URACCAN in its Bilwi venue held its Inaugural Lesson 2020, having as special guest Yamil Zapata Webb, delegate of the Presidency of the Government of Reconciliation and National Unity and, in addition, Departmental Political Secretary of the FSLN in Puerto Cabezas, Waspam and Prinzapolka.

This activity involved administrative guilds, teachers and the student community of the venue. The purpose of this academic event is, in addition to welcoming the entire university community, to report on the main activities that will take place during the year.

The presidential delegate assured that URACCAN "brings together so many dreams, so many hopes, so much light, so many longings to build a homeland and an Autonomous Region every day better, from our pride of indigenous peoples, Afro-descendants, half-breeds and everything we represent when we unite our thoughts, voices, chores, personalities, knowledge and desires in the search for good work and common knowledge."

Zapata also praised the role of men and women who made it possible to found this magna institution. "This Intercultural Community University has enriched and equipped with professionals in so many branches of knowledge; to develop with relevance our dear mother earth and the autonomy of our peoples," the special guest argued.  

This event also included a talk on COVID-19, by Dr. Ivania López, coordinator of Health Sciences, who reported on measures to prevent it, inviting guidance from the Ministry of Health, the World Health Organization and the Pan American Health Organization as authorized instances.
