URACCAN UNEN Las Minas holds 2020 planning assembly

The new board of directors of the National Union of Students of Nicaragua (UNEN) of URACCAN campus Las Minas held its first planning session corresponding to 2020.

The activity involved management members of UNEN Las Minas and its extensions, as well as representatives of each of the races of the Siuna campus.

"In this first session we will carry out the planning of activities corresponding to the year 2020, within these, as macro activities, we have the sports leagues, celebration of Student Day and the third Festival of Art and Culture," said Félix Aráuz, president of UNEN in Las Minas.

"We also want to give space for those responsible for each section so that they can get to know each other more and manage to set out their demands and proposals towards the new UNEN directive; for this we are joined by the representatives of the extensions of Bonanza, Rosita and Waslala," Aráuz said.

For her part, Keydi López, unEN's first vice president in the Rosita extension, said that the expectations of the new board of directors is to continue working for the well-being of students, since in addition to planning at this meeting, they will take up the measures that are implemented in each precinct on the prevention of COVID-19.

Institutional support

The academic secretary of Las Minas, master's degree Ariel Chavarría, spoke with the participants to publicize the role of students in the process of professionalization; it also gave a presentation on the commission to eradicate violence and discrimination.

Chavarría also stated that "the university and the student government respond to regulations, regulations, guidelines and especially to an institutional strategic plan where all of us are involved."

The academic stated that "this assembly is extremely important, as it will gather the concerns and new proposals of students where the university plays a fundamental role in its accompaniment and articulation; In addition, we will carry out all the activities and the work plan where we see that the only beneficiary will be the university."
