The authorities also assessed progress on infrastructure projects.

The rector of URACCAN, Dr. Alta Hooker, and the Secretary General, PhD. José Saballos, visited this Friday the Bluefields campus as part of an accompaniment process to know the organization of this campus around the COVID-19 pandemic and how the conditions for the university community to resume their academic activities have been ensured.

The visit of both authorities also addressed the infrastructure projects that are being carried out in the territory, including the auditorium, the Aunt Irene hotel and restaurant, and the construction of new offices, still underway.

"We are reviewing the process of advancing the construction of the campus auditorium, which becomes an important reference for the university community and the city of Bluefields," said URACCAN Secretary General.

The fight for higher education in the pandemic context

According to the meeting with the University Council, assessing actions that allow in a successful and sustainable way to ensure and restore some normality, with all necessary measures.

According to the Secretary-General, "there was a collective dialogue on different agreements for different institutional strengthening processes; our perspective is to strengthen the functioning in these scenarios, starting with the Bluefields enclosure."
