Institutional commitment to the prevention and eradication of gender-based violence
This week, the institutional commission for the eradication of manifestations of discrimination, gender-based violence and related intolerance, held a meeting with the aim of reviewing and validating the Annual Operational Plan (POA 2021), in URACCAN Recinto Las Minas.
The main objective of the meeting was to plan actions that pay for the treatment of violence, aiming to promote the reflection of values for the construction of a culture of peace in the university community.
In this regard, Carolina Blanco Marchena, chair of the commission in the compound, urged members to work on the prevention of violence, to promote the recognition of institutional principles and values for the full exercise of human rights as tools for the construction of intercultural citizenships, equitable relations for the good life of peoples on the Caribbean Coast.
From the Center for Multi-Ethnic Women's Studies and Information (CEIMM-URACCAN) and the DEcolonization and Depatriarcalization project for Transformation from Education, funded by SAIH, they pledged to provide follow-up and accompaniment in actions to prevent and care for discrimination and violence that may arise in the university community.
The commission is made up of several key players from the university community who have developed violence prevention actions on the university campus and from the commission pledged to continue working on the prevention and eradication of gender-based violence.
