Promoting development activities for students

Authorities of URACCAN campus Las Minas held an assembly with the students of the university residence, addressing different topics of interest and well-being for the student.

La PhD. Leonor Ruiz Calderón, vice-chancellor of Las Minas, explained that these briefings are held every quarter to address the problems that students have in the university residence of URACCAN on their campus in Siuna.

Juan Martínez, head of the Culture area of the venue, informed the students that Vice-Chancellor has machines and that he will provide them with materials for the elaboration of turbans and masks for the prevention of COVID-19 in the enclosure.

For his part, Uriel Blanco Velázquez, head of Sports, said that there is a special plan to develop recreational activities within the venue, so that students can participate in activities within the residence and the university campus.

The teacher Sorayda Herrera Siles, academic secretary of Las Minas, stated that all students who are in the student residence, with the aim of protecting themselves from the coronavirus, are prohibited from entering the premises.

Mr. José Alfaro, inspector of student residence, said that all prevention measures, schedules, and only a few special-case students, those studying at another center, and some athletes and workers, must be met.

Félix Aráuz, president of UNEN Las Minas, unveiled the student regulations and called everyone to continue wearing the mask and taking preventive measures, taking care of the health of himself and his fellow students.

URACCAN is developing its by classes in a semi-presidential way and using the virtual platform for the second half of the academic year 2020.
