Dr. Hooker: "Students are fulfilling one more of their dreams."

The URACCAN student community on the Las Minas campus now has a large office, equipped with computers and Internet access, for the student to make use of them. The rector of this study house, Dr. Alta Hooker Blandford, said that students are fulfilling one more of their dreams: having a space where they can attend to do their class work.

"We haven't finished doing everything we want, but we're going to continue to strengthen this space," Dr Hooker said, adding that work to strengthen URACCAN's student organization is a priority. Therefore, "the University is trying to make the faces and voices of students the ones who speak for us."

"We congratulate you on this progress, the effort to keep improving will continue; tell them to continue to accompany the student leader, the student board, the different student organizations, so that the university will look more and more like it is, the first intercultural community university in Latin America," Rector Hooker urged all inauguration participants.

In addition, the vice-rector of the Las Minas campus, Ph.D. Leonor Ruiz Calderón, stated that this office expansion was a joint effort from Rectory, Student Welfare Directorate, Vice-Chancellor together with UNEN, with the aim that the student can interact and take advantage of those moments for better performance in his classes.

Therefore, Félix Aráuz, president of the Student Government at the Las Minas campus, said that they have been working to strengthen students. "The number of boys coming to the office is large and we didn't fit into space, which is why we asked the university authorities to expand the premises," the young leader said.

Aráuz also thanked Dr. Alta Hooker and Ph.D. Leonor Ruiz Calderón for all the support they have provided to expand the premises, where they have also been obtaining equipment as a large speaker for student movement activities, computers connected to iInternet and other improvements to the office.

The student leader concluded by emphasizing that the UNEN office is for the entire student and is always at their service.
