Important donation from MLR Forestal

As part of the good interinstitutional relations, URACCAN in the Las Minas campus received a significant donation of masks from the company MLR Forestal, which operates in the municipality of Siuna.

The vice-chancellor of this compound, PhD. Leonor Ruiz Caldero, thanked the company for its contribution in the prevention measures of COVID–19 and emphasized that the masks are effectively added to all the measures implemented by URACCAN in its protocol of safety against this disease.

The vice-chancellor explained that the masks will be distributed among the administrative and teaching staff of the university, but also among the internal students of this study house.

Luis López, manager of the sustainable development area of MLR Forestal, explained that since March in this company they have been implementing some preventive measures to prevent the contagion and spread of coronavirus, "that also includes in the strengthening of institutions, so we have delivered more than 1050 reusable masks to the different institutions of the municipal government and the central government present in Siuna , and eventually we have also supported the Mayor of Bonanza," the official said.

They look at community support

Lopez stressed the importance of all institutions being coordinated by making prevention work everyone's responsibility. "We are currently working on new plans to empower and support communities that are close to the project area in the La Bu Junction area, Unión La Bu, Betel 2, Waspado, among others," the manager concluded.
