Grant recognition to URACCAN vice-chancellor Las Minas venue
Several key local actors highlighted the role played by Vice-Chancellor Ruiz Calderón, in accordance with URACCAN's philosophy of life.

The Intercultural Community University permanently accompanies Caribbean peoples in their development processes.

Caribbean society and various local actors from the Mining Triangle gave deserved recognition to the PhD. Angelica Leonor Ruiz Calderón, vice-chancellor of URACCAN Las Minas, for her contribution to the development of Higher Education and to the interinstitutional articulation in the mining region.

During the celebration of the 33 years of Regional Autonomy and the 26 founding of URACCAN, the Association of Cattle ranchers of Siuna and its board of directors took the stand to hand over a badge of recognition to the vice-chancellor.

The outstanding and recognized artistic and cultural promoter of the Mining Triangle, Mercedes Gatica Salazar, came up to give a recognition to Vice-Chancellor Leonor Ruiz and wish her many successes in her professional life, as she has managed to promote art and culture from her space as leader of the Caribbean university in Las Minas.

The delegate of the Government of Nicaragua in Las Minas, Yamileth Roque, also highlighted work done by Dr. Leonor Ruiz from URACCAN.

The mayor of Siuna, Otilio Duarte Herrera, who was not in the city, from Bilwi sent an audio where he made a special recognition of the work that Dr. Calderón Ruiz has developed in the processes of higher education and institutional articulation in the municipalities of Siuna, Rosita, Bonanza and Waslala.

Bonanza Extension Coordinators, MSc. Eulogio Pedro Rufus, by Rosita, MSc. Yaneth Sevilla, by Waslala, MSc. Rosidani Molina, and the URACCAN Siuna Radio team also brought their recognition to the work done in quality higher education at URACCAN Las Minas.

Angelica Leonor Ruiz Calderón has been serving in various positions within URACCAN, where she began as assistant vice-chancellor, and then went on that institutional path in various areas as head of academic registration, academic secretary and finally vice-chancellor of the venue.

Angélica Leonor Ruiz Calderón holds a degree in Business Administration, a master's degree in Anthropology, a PhD in Education with a specialization in Pedagogical Mediation.
