The University of the Autonomous Regions of the Nicaraguan Caribbean Coast (URACCAN), in greeting its 25-year founding, held, on Monday, July 22, the launch of the chair with the United Nations Education, Science and Culture Organization (UNESCO), where municipal and departmental authorities participated, and was attended by the International Speaker , Dr. Francisco Tamarit, former rector of the National University of Córdoba, Argentina and General Coordinator of CRES 2018.

The speaker highlighted the hard work that URACCAN has been doing in intercultural education, "Congratulations to all the members of URACCAN, for that wonderful work, that they do every day, because here are the experts in interculturality, because you live daily with the benefits, with the wealth, with that plus that gives us diversity and that we must often admit , is not recognized in our American and Caribbean societies," he said.

UNESCO Chairs are the effort to further promote intercultural education, which aims to continue and improve the development of higher education research, training and development programmes, through the construction of university networks and the promotion of interuniversity cooperation to promote cultural diversity.

Other activities carried out by URACCAN, was the participation of students from the 4 venues and the extensions, commemorating with sports games on the day of the Nicaraguan student.

Concluding in the afternoon hours with the second Festival of Art and Culture, organized by UNEN-URACCAN Las Minas, in greeting student day and the 25th Anniversary of URACCAN.
