The welcome activity brought together students who participated in the previous edition of the Rally and those who will participate in the 2020 version.
Sharing experiences and learnings from the previous Rally
Authorities of URACCAN campus Las Minas welcomed the students who will be participating in the Latin American Innovation Rally 2020, an international event held by the Government of Nicaragua and the universities of the country, in articulation with their Latin American peers.
The teacher Sorayda Herrera Siles, academic secretary of Las Minas, spoke this Monday afternoon with the students who, for 28 hours, will solve problems raised during this magnificent event.
"Everyone is welcome to this second international event in which URACCAN participates as the venue, which must be a challenge and a great opportunity for you to be in this space," she said.
Teacher Ada Madrigal, from the Center for Multi-Ethnic Women's Studies and Information (CEIMM), shared with the students who will be at this Rally the experience she had last year, where there were some groups that changed their project at the last minute, after spending discussion and disagreed. Therefore, the new participants have had all the necessary accompaniment to strengthen their skills and abilities.
Anier Mayorga Flores participated in the last Rally and in his speech explained to his colleagues that they must solve a challenge in 28 hours, using many technological and social resources that they must contribute to the solution of problems in Latin America.
Briediel Rosales, a miskita student who also participated in last Rally, said you don't have to be afraid of the rally. She was afraid and, in the end, with her team they managed to get along very well. That's why he called everyone to stay calm, because there's a lot of nervousness and stress.
The coordinator of the Innovation area of the venue, Ing. Joel Montenegro, explained to the students the entire program of the Latin American Rally 2020, so that they have all the necessary information of the international event.
A total of 32 students, mixed-race, indigenous and Afro-descendants participate in the headquarters of Las Minas, on their Siuna campus. Some of them came from the university extensions of Bonanza, Waslala and Rosita. URACCAN, for the 2020 Latin American Innovation Rally, will have four locations, and will be located in Bilwi, Bluefields, Siuna and New Guinea.

The entire process of monitoring, training and accompaniment for the Rally will be carried out by a General Committee, guided by Rectory of URACCAN and consisting of the following areas: Center for Studies and Information of Multi-ethnic Women (CEIMM), Institute of Intercultural Communication (ICI), Student Welfare, Directorate of External Cooperation, Academic Directorate, Union of Students of Nicaragua (UNEN) and System of Information Technology and Institutional Communication (SITICI). This entire interdisciplinary team is coordinated by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Directorate.
