Career profile

The general objective of the Engineering career in Zootecnia is to train professionals with scientific-technical capabilities, in the agricultural area that contribute to the business and productive development of the livestock sector of the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua, as well as the country, based on the use of appropriate practices and technologies, for natural resources and the environment, sensitive from the intercultural perspective of gender.

Functions performed by the Engineer in Zootechnics

• Plan, direct, control and evaluate agricultural companies, with a gender intercultural perspective.
• It breeds, breeds and improves animal species affected by production and administers animal production ventures, with arrangements for the principles of sustainable development.
• Integrates, plans, manages, researches and develops actions in reproduction, genetic improvement and food to promote the well-being and quality of life of animals and men.
• Create and run your own agricultural company.
• Management of agricultural programs with an emphasis on comprehensive livestock systems, rural extension and identity development.
• Formulate, manage and evaluate agricultural projects with a gender intercultural perspective.
• Plan and develop comprehensive technical accompaniment plans with a gender intercultural perspective.
• Plans and develops agricultural research.
