Implementation of the modality by meetings

The URACCAN authorities implemented the per-meeting modality to ensure the educational process of the student while safeguarding the health of the university community. Therefore, from the Bluefields venue, class schedules for all races were readequated.

To this end, teacher Heidi Guillén, academic secretary of the Bluefields campus, reported that "depending on the culmination of the first semester an educational strategy has been designed, modality by meeting".

"For regular shift students the classes are being taught for one hour per subject, in the case of the Sabatina and Sunday modality they are being given meetings every fortnight," Guillén explained.

The teacher also noted that "from the academic area this new education plan is properly monitored for the health emergency, safeguarding the student; therefore, it has been reported through each area coordinator, teacher and students, with the aim of ensuring the information".

The Humanities Coordinator, Licda. Narda Wilson reported that as an area they have been keeping an eye on students, as "they are still given accompaniment and information on the health measures they must practice."

Other actions carried out on the premises

In the same context, actions have been directed from vice-chancellor of the campus regarding the accompaniment of the university community, coordinating with members of the Joint Labour and Risk Management committees to carry out visits to the sections, in order to bring information on COVID-19 as well as the adjustment of schedules.

It is worth mentioning that the team that was formed to sensitize the university students through dialogue visits, was led by: teacher Diala López, teacher Luvy Hernández, Licda. Katherine Flores and members of the Risk Prevention Committee.

In view of this, the Flores license held that "in this process of monitoring and awareness about the proper implementation of hygiene measures, the classrooms have been visited, to reinforce each of those orientations that we have been sharing with them in different spaces, as well as the co-responsibility of taking care of myself and taking care of others".

Flores says that "there has been a positive acceptance by young people, in being aware of these preventive practices within the premises as in their homes".

The visit consisted of informing about the inputs that the enclosure has, which have been placed in strategic points: sinks with dispensers containing liquid soap, pediluvios with chlorine at the entrances of the sections, where they perform proper disinfection when entering. In addition, it has emphasized the need for social estating, so activities involving agglomeration have been cancelled and education strategies have been modified and readjusted.
