Safeguarding life from potential natural disasters
Teacher Luvy Hernandez and the Licda. Katherine Flores, members of the URACCAN Bluefields Campus Risk Management Commission, held a virtual meeting with the University Risk Management Commission (CUGIR), organized from the UNC.
This session presented the different scenarios that each venue will develop before the next Multi-Threat National Exercise.
In the same context, teacher Hernandez refers, "this time it will be a different practice, because it will be done in a virtual way, in which we will know how communication is both within the university to respond to such situations, and externally with regard to coordination with the UNC, COMUPRED and CROPRED".
"We've programmed the stage in a tropical storm, becoming a category one hurricane; the medium where it will be developing is through an application, Zoom, and in a conference room, in the exercise participates the entire university community, entering that room, and will be told the scenario, the problem, as well as publicize the actions of each of the brigades that will be participating," the teacher reported.
The schedules established for the performance of this exercise were coordinated with CODEPRED, CORPRED, COMUPRED, INETER, SINAPRED, CIGIR URACCAN Bluefields.
Timeline of the exercise on the grounds
10:00 a.m. The bell rings from the venue, the cigIR commission managers are activated.
10:03 a.m. INETER informs national authorities via email about the details of the event.
10:05 a.m. From the national CODE, at a press conference, SINAPRED presents the situation of the country, announces the red alert and establishes communication with all CODEPRED, CORPRED and COMUPRED.
10:10 a.m. From CIGIR URACCAN Bluefields, through social media videoconferencing, the vice-chancellor and coordinator of CIGIR establishes communication with the entire committee to guide the activation of the institutional response through the Supply and Security Commissions.
10:15 a.m. The Supply and Security Committees receive guidance from the Vice-Chancellor on the measures to be taken in accordance with the Institutional Response Plan for the safeguarding of equipment, stationery and office documents.
10:20 a.m. The Supply Commission communicates with area coordinators to report on the safeguarding of equipment, stationery and office documents.
10:30 a.m. MEMBERS of CIGIR begin the process of systematization and summary of participants (hypothetically).
10:40 a.m. The CD-SINAPRED makes recommendations known on the guidance of the Presidency of the Republic.
11:00 a.m. CIGIR provides the Liaison Office and COMUPRED with the quantitative results of mobilizing community leadership in the exercise and the institutional evaluation of the multi-threat drill is carried out.
In addition, the Risk and Mixed Management Commissions of the venue work on the adjustments to successfully carry out the exercise of attention to multi-threat situations, ensuring the safety and protection of the university community.
